Updates//Ramblings

First of all I am entering Isabelle's editing photo challenge.
Here's the original:
And here's my edited version.

Also NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) Starts Tomorrow!!!  I am really excited/nervous!  I know some of you guys are doing NaNo this year too, so if you are, you can check out my profile/add me as a writing buddy here.
Did anybody lose power from superstorm Sandy? (well, obviously if ur reading this your power came back on but..) we lost power for like 5 minuets, but then it came back on. Our river is SUPER flooded, I have never seen it this high before.  Other than a couple of fallen trees the storm really didn't do much damage.
Raindrops on my window from Sandy.

These are a few of my favorite things..

First of all: Thank you guys all for reading my blog, for following, and commenting.  I had a rough morning, but I logged onto my computer and saw that I had gotten my 56th follower. When I saw the number 56, by followers...I smiled like this:

Speaking of How to Train Your Dragon. That is my first favorite thing.  I love that movie, I cried the first time I watched it. I just think this is such a cute movie.  Anyone else love How To Train Your Dragon? I mean, how can you not fall in love with this face?

My second favorite thing is rain, because it's awesome. I really don't know why I like rain so much, I think its the fact that its wet that really makes me happy.  I don't know. It's just that the concept of  water falling from the sky seems so cool.  Its like a shower... from heaven... (but I would not recommend taking a shower in the rain..)

The next thing on my list of favorites are Oreos!  We never get Oreos, so whenever I have them at a friend's house, I get really excited!!!  Some people say YOLO stands for You Only Live Once...but I say You Obviously Love Oreos.

Forth is Chocolate Milk....'nuff said.
Old TV or radio shows are another thing I adore!  Like The Dick Van Dyke Show, I Love Lucy, Red Skelton, or The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet.  My personal favorite radio shows are The Shadow, and suspense.

Dear Autumn.

Dear Autumn,
Thank you  for bringing crisp cold mornings in which I can drink warm tea, and snuggle in a fleece blanket.  Thank you for the bright colors of the leaves that sprinkle the sky when the wind blows.

Thank you for the smell of chai tea, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pumpkin pies.

Thank for the bright moon that shines through the cold nights of October.
Thank you for pumpkins for carving, and pies for baking, leaves for raking, and hikes for taking.
I only have one more request. Please stay a little longer, and don't let winter come.

Confessions//Quotes From my Household

Confessions... (or truths or facts or whatever you want to label these as, but confessions sound more dramatic)
  • I am afraid of squid
  • I drank 5 cups of tea on Monday

via

  • Every since the bees broke into my room, I hate bees. (If you have no idea what I am talking about, you can read my post on the bees here)
  • I have been staying up way later then I should be.
  • I despise ketchup.
  • I love mustard
  • I didn't eat breakfast today, thus I am hungry
  • My sister's rabbit died Monday.
  • I just finished reading Scarlet Letter for school and honestly, that is the only book where you can read a paragraph over, and over, and over again, and it STILL doesn't make any sense.
  • I threw my sister's cat off the porch (this might sound violent but I really only dropped him off, gently....and besides he was trying to drink my tea)
  • I am getting really nervous about NaNoWriMo (Anyone else doing it?)
  • One of my new sibs broke my really awesome touch MP3....
  • AND they broke my moshi...:( (a moshi is a REALLY squishy pillow :D)
Quotes:
 Quotes from Laura (Me)
  • While sitting in the school room (which overlooks the kitchen and living room) I shouted to mom and Cat (Catherine) who were down stairs in the kitchen. I said "I smell coffee, burnt coffee."  (BTW no one drinks coffee in our house, 'cept for bekah but she was gone)  Then Cat said, "but we're making  hot dogs..."  "Well, I smell coffee." i did smell burnt coffee
  • "I wish I had a mini pet alligator that I could dress up for halloween." No idea why I said this..
Quotes from Natalie
  • "If I were a cloud, I would be floating right now"
  • Ok, keep in mind that she said this when she was like 4. OK, we were in the car, and Catherine was irritating Natalie, so she suddenly announces "if I had a watermelon...I would throw it at you" there was an awkward silence..then they both burst out laughing.
  • this was also when she was a baby,  my mom asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up, this was her response "I want to be a magical, talking, mama squirrel. And I want to go to Mama talking squirrel school.
A Quote from David
  • I told David that he was gonna be a really handsome boy when he grew up, and he says "No I'm not, I'm gonna be a dad."  not sure how to respond to this... :P

A Quote from Micheal
  • He did the funniest thing the other day.  He has been learning English, and the other day he learned how to ask "What is this"  So we were eating lunch and he picks up a slice of cucumber and says "What is this?" then he eats it and says "This is nothing"
Hope you enjoyed!
P.S. Don't forget to enter my Photo Challenge.
